Dreamer to Doer
Harnessing the time, focus & motivation for a Happy Writing Habit
Do you dream of writing and publishing a novel?
My name is Vivien Reis and, like many of you, I'm a writer with a full-time life. By day I'm a mechanical engineer and by night I'm a YouTuber and writer. But we all have other obligations. I'm also a homeowner, so we're frequently renovating our home; mom-to-be, so we're prepping for our baby in March; RV-owner, so we're making repairs to live life on the road; and dog owner, so I spend time taking care of our beautiful furbabies.
How do I make it work?
I'm not a planner. Time management has never come easy to me. I started exactly where you are now, wondering how I could make it all work. I've tried and failed, and failed some more until I created a system that worked. I went from hating to plan (but trying to trick myself into thinking I was a planner) to creating a schedule and lifestyle that allowed me to accomplish my dreams.
"The very first step to making your dreams come true is making the time for those dreams."
Most of us grew up with the desire to be an author, but there's a stigma behind the whole "starving artist" picture. The bills need to be paid, which means getting a responsible job and letting the hobby of writing stay just that--a hobby. But what if you can work at your day job and become a published author? What if you can be a stay-at-home mom or dad and become a published author?
Writing a novel on top of your already-busy life requires three things:
Without any one of those three things, you won't ever be able to hold your novel in your hands.
That's what Dreamer to Doer is all about: taking your dream of writing and publishing a novel, and making it a reality!
Vivien helps busy writers like yourself finish and publish their novel through her online course, videos on her YouTube channel, and podcast episodes on the Happy Writing Podcast.
Teaching has always been a passion of Vivien's, and helping other writers navigate the crazy world of writing and publishing has been a passion of hers for years. After struggling with burnout and mental health issues associated with writing, she's made it her focus to promote a happy writing habit, one where healthy writing happens sustainably with daily life.

Who is Dreamer to Doer for?
Beginner and advanced writers with busy lives. It doesn't matter where you are in your journey, if you dream of being an author but can't make the time to write on top of all of your other obligations and responsibilities, then this course is for you!
Anyone who spends more time dreaming than doing. This was me to the letter a few years ago. I spent hours of my free time every day just dreaming of when I would be an author. But dreaming won't get you there on its own. If you struggle with the "doing" part, then this course is for you!
Writers who sometimes lose steam or get burned out. It's my passion to not only help you write your dream novel, but to help you do so in a sustainable way. If you know in your heart you want to be a writer but feel guilty when you can't make yourself sit down at your computer to write, then this is the course for you!
Who is it NOT for?
Those looking for "how to write a book." This course deals with the first steps in writing and publishing your novel: making the time and having the focus and motivation. This course doesn't detail the writing process (ex. plotting, story structure, editing, etc), although checklists and timelines are included in this course as it relates to time management.
Those not willing to put in the course work. Dreamer to Doer is self-taught, and requires you to take a hard look at your life. What can you cut out? What can you delegate? Most of us haven't had to do this before, and think we're Superman/Superwoman and can do it all. If you want to become a writer, you're going to have to make some sacrifices.
